The Associate role and career structure at Wellers

The position of Associate at our firm exists in 2 forms:

1. To help identify future partners

2. As a final career position

In the first instance, Wellers has thrived throughout the decades by nurturing and bringing through talent identified as the future leaders at our firm. The Associate role can therefore provide Managers with a stepping stone to becoming the next potential Partners.

Often the role in this guise will involve some form of leadership training with a view to:

  • Elevate their mindset to help them embrace the challenge of being a leader
  • Understanding the kind of leader they want to be and help them to step up
  • Develop ideas and strategies in their role that could help Wellers evolve and grow

The Associate position also exists as a permanent role that Managers can step into as a means to greater involvement in the implementation of various projects and strategic initiatives.

The career structure at Wellers

Our career structure at the firm revolves around the fundamentals of our business, namely people and relationships. Whilst we set ourselves plenty of metrics by which to measure our work and achieve things, it's all done with an understanding that this is simply contributing to a bigger picture.

After all our ethos is all about helping people fulfil their potential. For our clients that's about guiding them in building and developing their organisations. For our staff it's about direction and upskilling in a variety of different ways from highly technical accounting and tax advisory matters, to soft skills such as staff training and business development.

Critical to all of this however, is bringing through the next generation of leaders. This approach is how our firm has endured over 80 years through varying trading conditions. It means nurturing and developing the next generation to live our mission and values and help take Wellers to the next level.

In turn, this should ensure a pipeline of highly talented people coming through that can successfully help guarantee our culture while continuing to provide the high level of service delivery our clients expect and require.

Commence your accounting career at Wellers.
