Doug studied Accounting and Finance at Southampton University. He joined Wellers in 2014 as a senior and became ACA fully qualified in 2016.
Having managed a varied portfolio of clients across a wide range of industries, Doug has been able to work very closely with owner managed businesses and in the process, built many strong client relationships.
He enjoys really getting to understand a business so that he can better advise clients, and help support them in achieving sustainable growth.
In his role he has gained valuable experience by handling outsourced finance functions, part time finance director/controller roles and delivering a range of advisory services. This is on top of other professional services including annual statutory accounts, audit, and tax.
Doug has more recently fulfilled our Head of Digital role. This is designed to help our clients by implementing new technologies to achieve greater efficiency in their systems and processes whilst enabling our teams to deliver advice and services in a more effective manner.
He is our go-to person for assessing and helping clients with software/apps in order to enable them to get the financial information, and intelligence, that they need to facilitate growth.
