What you need to know about R&D tax credits to save money

Do join us at our exclusive, 45 minute seminar on how your business can potentially benefit from the government's very generous R&D tax credits.

Taking place on on Wednesday 15 September, from 9.30 am, at the offices of High Spec Composites, you will arrive to a breakfast buffet.

The presentations are aimed at the owners of growing businesses whose projects and activities could qualify them for a sizeable repayment from HMRC, or a significant corporation tax deduction.

To confirm your attendance, please click the register link at the end of this page. The seminar will focus, in the main, on the tax advantages available to businesses, and will conclude with High Spec Composites relaying their experiences of making an R&D tax claim.

There will also be representatives available from Wellers for you to have a discussion with afterwards, if you have further questions, or points that need clarifying.

1. Understanding R&D tax credits, with Christina NawrockiChristina Nawrocki

Christina is the managing partner at Wellers, and she advises a substantial client portfolio of start-up, and scaling businesses, across a range of industries.

She combines extensive knowledge of the markets and finance to ensure her clients understand the numbers, stay compliant with HMRC, while also achieving tax savings where possible.

With her tax hat on, Christina will draw upon her vast experience of undertaking many successful R&D claims to help you understand:

  • What the R&D tax credit scheme is
  • What counts as qualifying activities for this tax relief
  • The costs that are permitted under the scheme
  • How the benefits of the R&D scheme can work for you

2. A R&D case study, with Sarah JaycockSarah Jaycock

Sarah is the Executive Director of High Spec Composites. She divides her time between many roles, especially finance and operations.

Sarah will explain how a review of their accounts, when first working with Wellers, revealed that High Spec Composites had expenditure that was eligible for R&D tax relief.

She will talk about the process they went through, with Wellers as their advisor, that led to a large refund. This includes the areas of eligibility and adapting financial records to make any future claims easier.

Time will be allocated at the end of the talks for questions and answers.
