Self-employment Income Support Scheme

Hi there,

How the government are helping the self-employed

HMRC have confirmed that the grants for the self-employed will be processed earlier than anticipated.

Unfortunately the scheme does not permit Wellers to apply on your behalf. However, we believe you may qualify for the grant. Using your HMRC UTR and National Insurance number you can check if HMRC believe you qualify in under a minute using their tool.

To receive funds, you will need a Government Gateway account. If you don’t have this for income tax then you need to set one up as a matter of urgency. You will need your HMRC UTR and National Insurance number – please call if you do not have these.

You can register online but there is a possibility you may need to wait for an activation code to arrive by post. When you register, you will be issued with a user ID - it's important to keep a note of this number.

If you have previously set up a Government Gateway account and have forgotten your password under certain circumstances you may need to wait for a new password to be issued by post which can take up to 14 days.

If you require assistance with the above process please contact us as soon as possible. We have your UTR and National Insurance number to hand should you need them.

Please note, we are aware of various fraudulent communications in connection with this scheme. HMRC will never contact you by text message. Any emails purporting to be from HMRC regarding this grant scheme are certain to have been sent by criminals.

Kind regards

Stuart Crook
